Got Pickles??

 Hello Fellow Gardeners and/or Foodies!

The pickling cucumbers in my garden are loving all of the rain we are having so I am harvesting like crazy! Cucumbers are so versatile and I will share plenty of recipes with you, but first I want to show you a quick and easy way to get fresh pickles right at home.

In my opinion, Fridge Pickles are the easiest pickles you can make and they are easy to experiment with. Usually folks will use a 1:1 ration in their brine of water and vinegar but I like my pickles tangy so I do a 1:2 ratio. You can add different herbs and spices and play around with the amount of salt, though I  do recommend using Kosher salt or Sea Salt and not table salt.

You can also using this fridge pickling method for other vegetables like peppers (I'll be posting a recipe for pickled banana peppers at some point), onions, or green tomatoes. The sky is limit!

As always, have fun with your food and experiment!! Find what flavors work for you!!
