Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus
Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus
NOTE: I actually used measurements for this one lol I hope you enjoy it! Feel free to use different seasonings! *In the picture I used thick cut bacon because that is what I had, but I recommend thin cut bacon so it will wrap around the asparagus better*
Ingredients
1 Bunch of Asparagus
1 Pack of Thin-Sliced Bacon
2 Tbs Brown Sugar
1 Tbs Ground Mustard
1 Tbs Freshly Ground Pepper
Directions
1) Preheat oven to 375 degrees fahrenheit.
2) Remove the woody ends of the asparagus by bending the asparagus until it snaps where the tender part meets the woody end. (Instead of discarding the ends, put them in a baggie or container and freeze them to make veggie broth or stock for asparagus soup).
3) In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, pepper, and mustard powder until fully combined.
4) Remove the bacon from the packaging and lay out flat on a large piece of parchment paper or cutting board. You want as many slices as there are stalks of asparagus.
5) Heavily season both sides of the bacon and then wrap a piece fully around a single stalk of asparagus. You may need to use a toothpick to hold the bacon in place if it is refusing to stay. Repeat with all asparagus stalks.
6) Once the asparagus is wrapped, place it on a wire rack on top of a cookie sheet (We want the asparagus to be raised while in the oven for more even cooking).
7) Bake until the bacon is nicely browned and fully cooked. Serve immediately.
